FAQs for Wedding Photographers

Dallas wedding photographer FAQs

Coverage & Style

What is your style of photography?

Manish takes a documentary approach to wedding photography. Of course, this does not mean it is strictly photojournalism as there are posed formal shots, etc. but he makes it a goal to capture the event as it unfolds and capture things as they take place. While Manish doesn’t stage the shots, he will occasionally stage the settings and capture the moments as they happen.

Who is the photographer?

Manish is the primary photographer. He does not hire someone else to do the work that you contracted him to do. An assistant may provide limited secondary coverage but all primary coverage is done by him; no exceptions.

How many images are taken?

This depends on the length of the venue. To provide some perspective, in a 6-hour event Manish will take at least 600 images (but the actual number is typically much greater).

Do we get to keep the digital files?

Yes. While the copyright is retained by Veritaz Photography, you do receive the high-resolution digital files.

What type of equipment do you use?

Manish uses professional digital equipment for cameras, lenses, and lighting which provide outstanding image quality. That said, professional equipment alone does not make one a photographer. It’s like telling an acclaimed writer, “You are a tremendous author; you must have an incredible pen!” Great photography also requires ability, creativity, and passion. Nevertheless, top-notch equipment, when coupled with skill and talent, makes for some absolutely incredible photography.

What will you wear to our wedding?

Dress pants, dress shirt and dress shoes. Manish understands that this is a wedding and wants to look professional as your other vendors will.

Do you offer discounts?

Generally speaking, no. However, if you are active or former military then there may be discounts available. Also, for non-Saturday events a discount may be available. Manish is not available on Sundays.

Do you shoot more than one wedding on the same day?

No. Once booked, that date is no longer available. Manish devotes his energy and attention solely to one event for that day.

Details

Are you insured?

Veritaz Photography is insured for equipment coverage and general liability. If your venue requires a certificate of insurance, it can be provided upon request.

How long have you been in business?

Manish has been shooting weddings since 2003 and has served as the primary photographer for every wedding provided by Veritaz Photography. Additionally, he has worked with other professional shooters as a secondary for their respective studios.

Should I make an appointment?

If you are in the Dallas area, then it is highly recommended as it gives you an opportunity to meet directly with Manish and see some more of his work including albums and portraits. He is available to meet on the evenings and weekends (pending shooting events). In some instances, it is not feasible for you to be in Dallas prior to your wedding and all correspondence can be done via phone and e-mail.

What is the payment schedule?

To reserve the date, either a $1000 retainer fee or one-third the amount of your total Wedding Collection (which ever is greater) is required which will be applied toward your total wedding cost. The remaining two-thirds are due 3 months and 3 weeks before your wedding date.

If we want your services, when should be book you?

Since it is first come, first serve, the earlier the better. Dates can not be reserved until the retainer fee is paid along with contract, etc.

Do you retouch the images?

The term “retouch” is often a loosely used term. Please visit the Retouching & Enhancement Article for more info on what this entails.

What else should we know about your services?

With so many photographers to choose from, the choice can be overwhelming. Here are a few things that differentiate what I offer in terms of photographic services.
